This is a simplified, example simulation. The actual visual impression can differ significantly between individuals. The simulator does not replace an ophthalmic examination, diagnosis or personal consultation.
Description in text form – readable without graphics
The simulation shows an increasing grey veil over the whole image, along with reduced contrast, paler and slightly yellowish colours, growing blur and light scatter. In dark scenes, wide glare halos and starbursts form around every light source. As severity increases, all effects grow together.
What the simulator shows
It illustrates typical changes often discussed in the consulting room: veiling, glare, missing areas of the image, distorted lines. This makes it easier to describe what you perceive yourself.
What it doesn't show
No findings, no diagnosis, no expected surgical outcome. Vision happens in the brain – two people with the same findings perceive very different things. Adjusting to a new lens also can't be depicted.
Where the images come from
The seven everyday scenes are images created specifically for this page – no stock agency, no third-party rights, no recognisable people from the practice. They're hosted locally on our server; no data is transferred to third parties. The simulation itself runs entirely in your browser.
